August Birthday Cards

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything...not that I haven't been working on some things, I just don't have a working camera. My camera man has also been a little lax in remembering to have the camera available. My FH has quite a few family members with birthdays in the month of August. Here are three of the cards. The Party Time Dog is inspired from a post from the Cricut forums, I am sorry I cannot remember exactly who posted it. The dog is cut from Create-A-Critter and the hat is from Doodlecharms. The hibiscus card is inspired once again from Laverne at A Crafter's Haven. OOOH! By the way, I finally got a Cuttlebug. Hence, the embossed background. Finally, the gatefold butterfly card -the butterfly is from Picturesque, the bling is from Recollections (@ Michaels, by the way, Recollections stickers are on sale this week, hmmm!). Hope you enjoy...

Retirement Card

Two retirement cards made from Pagoda Cart and Far East DCWV Pack.

Father's Day Card

Here is the Father's Day card for my future FIL. It is an easel card. The chair and remote are from the Father's Day Cartridge that I borrowed from Laverne for A Crafter's Haven. The sentiment is a digital stamp from squigglefly.com. The Awesome Dad stamp is from Joy's Life stamps, (thanks again, Laverne). You see that we signed and mailed it off just in time for him to get it for Father's Day.

5 Carts for the price of 1

Shhh! I know, I should be working but I am shopping...I couldn't resist building up my cartridge stash. I went to CricutMachine.com and they have some cartridges for $19.95 and $14.95. Check out the screenshot to see what I ordered. This may not be a big deal to those of you who have been cricutting for a while, but to the newbies, like me - GET IT while the GETTING IS GOOD!

Winner!

I won a Blog Hop (Pool Party Blog Hop, that is) prize, a Purple Cow Trimmer from All About Me & My Scrapbook and Latin Scrap Diva - Ivette. I have been so busy, if she had not sent me an email I would have missed it. Thank you so much! My first win, YAY!

What's on your desk?

As I was perusing some blogs, Creations with Christina blog posted a challenge - take a picture of your craft desk/table right now. My table is a folding table (limited space). I clean up every time I use it (except for today for some odd reason) and put it away. I have been trying to put together a craft closet which has space for a desk, if I can ever get my DFH (dear future hubby) to pick up the desk from IKEA and put it together. OH well, until then I unfold  a table and fold paper to make cards.

Happy Birthday, Sir

I am loving the Paper Lace cart. This is the card that I made for my future daddy-in-law. I used the Paper Lace cart for the  "happy birthday" sentiment with the shadow option. The paper for the shadow behind it is from the DCWV Cafe Mediterranean stack and so are the stripes on the inside. VERY Pretty and these stacks have been on sale recently. But I keep buying paper, this card will  be for my ex future father in law... The sentiment is a digi from Squigglefly.com.  I also added gold pearls for just a little pop. Pearls are the June birthstone, right?

Graduation Card

On Sunday, I spent time making cards for upcoming events. First of which is the high school graduation of my neighbor. This z-fold card was made using Recollections cardstock in black, purple and silver metallic paper. I embossed the silver paper using the Cuttlebug folder -Textile. The layered cap image is from the cart, EveryDay Pop Up. I stamped a sentiment on a tag which fits inside the fold. Thanks, Laverne from A Crafter 's Haven for the idea and the card making class.

White on White

On Saturdays, I take a Cricut class at A C Moore. Today's theme was White on White. Here is a Sympathy Card. Using a 5 x 5 card from AC Cardstock (on sale for $1 for 8 cards), I cut and embossed the background from the Paper Lace Cartridge at 4 inches.  In hindsight, I should have cut it at 4.5 inches, well anyhoo. The butterfly is from Embellished Florals cut at 1.5 inches and also embossed. The sentiment was cut from Wild Card at 3.5 inches, heat embossed and placed with a pop-up pop dot (try saying that 5x fast). Pretty quick card to make. I love the white on white. In the process of finishing up another, so look for part 2 coming soon!

Happy Unbirthday? My Creative Time Throwback Challenge

Ok... so I used the Doodlebug Cartridge party hat image. I used George and Basic Shapes sentiment space and the background shapes. There is also the blue that had to show up somewhere on the card. This card was so easy, when I read the challenge statement, I immediately thought, "Hey, I think I can do this!" What's missing is the sentiment...so it is my "Happy UNBirthday Card". This is my first challenge on someone's blog. By the way, I think I will add some blue bling to the other hats. If you couldn't tell, I kinda like bling, hee hee!

Mother's Day #3

Mother's Day Card #2

Mother's Day Card Sketch Challenge 330

This is my very first CRICUT card that I created for submission. I submitted this card as a part of a sketch challenge. I love working with sketches. It makes it a little easier for me to design cards. I used an old Penny Black stamp...(I used to stamp a long time ago), turquoise and orange cardstock, some bling and OH NO, I forgot which cartridge I used to cut out the flowers. Well, I don't have that many yet. I believe that it was Plantin Schoolbook but I will make sure of that. I hope the picture is clear since I am using a substitute (my camera was stolen). I have a few more Mother's Day Cards to post even though it is after the fact.
